Tharia

Country Image

Unlike it's neighbor Suruon, Tharia is dry and high in altitude. Many of the plants that grow in Tharia have flat large tops. Like trees that are umbrella shaped. Many of it's cities have modernize but its holy sites and holy people look as if they have never changed. This contrast is one of the most interesting things about the country to outsiders.

Culture

Tharia culture is extreamly hierarchical, moving up or down the hierarchy is nearly impossible. The only way one can move up the hierarchy is being born with a high aptitude for holy magic.

Public Action

People of Tharia often travel to other countries to try to convert others to there religion.

History

Long Long ago those who lived closser to sea level casted out those who had strange unexplainable holy magic to the moutains. Those people are the ancestors of the people of Tharia. People use this still as a reason that those who are skilled in holy magic should be in leadership roles, as "they are the most connected to our roots."

Trades

Pearls, Gems, and fine sized beads are the most common exports.

Religion

The main god that people worship is the Elder God. They belive that she is the one true god and that what other peoples call gods are mearly over rated demons who help the Elder God.

Clerics spend their time reading and gaining wisdom to become the backbone of their community. They play leadership rolls in towns and cities. Clerics often take test to see how much wisdom they have gained and to show that wisdom they add a bead to their holy headdress; and once they master a area of wisdom they go through a scarification ritual. That way others can quickly tell how muhc wisdom they have gained.

All tho clerics are respected they are not given many of the freedoms everyday people are. As well as the years and money it takes to be able to go to cleric bording schools, mamy people do not become clerics in the church.

Demography and Population

The Humans of Tharia have the highest average lifespan of human in the whole world.
