Velika
One of the biggest and thee oldest countries in Europe, Velika has its history written and rewritten in blood. Their the home of Fairly tale stories, and the origin of Great Knights. Velika is known for mixing it's art into its armies, even in the modern era it's bards are a vital part of war. Once Velika Ruled Most of Europe, but like many great empires it fell. But it still stands tall, acting like a hero in a world of cowards. Velika is also Home of the The Virtuous Congregation. A religion that follows the elder god.
To this day Velika Honors its past, To the point where most of the world also sees Velika as the height of the ancient world, and the current most classy place. Being seen as the world's head of Art Education. It's common for people to spend there money to move to Velika rather then going to Art school
Culture
Much of modern Velikin culture had it's roots in Ancient Velika. All though over the centuries there was ebbs and flows but things like the love of the arist and grand gestures of romance has all ways been a part of it.
Public Action
Now being a "more" peaceful country Velika now simply has the goal of being a sample of being a country that has lasted threw the ages. As much as they now want to be seen as a "retired giant" Velika still has it's issues. Many of the minorities with in Velika still struggle to have rights. To this day Velika dose not have the freedom of religion, openly practicng religons outside of The Virtuous Congregation is illegal. Velika also dose not let many of the minority groups with in it migrate out of Velika easly.
The main minority group of velika are the Narla people. Back in Ancient Velika people from the north where often taken back as slaves as was traditional with the saints of the sin Subjugation. They where forced to renounce their old gods and traditions, though many practice in secret. Even to this day they are see as 2nd class people and are not allowed to travel or migrate out of velika unless they jump through many many hoops. Many people are fighting for Narla people to have equal rights too.
Religion
Velika is the home land of The Virtuous Congregation. The Congregation was founded here and is still the main power in the country. The Theocratic Monarchy is lead by the Saint of Order. The most controversial about the Virtuous Congregation in Velika is that they still hold Saints of sins in high regards, though not as much as they once had.
History
Velika houses The city of Airyn, witch was the first permeant city in Europe! witch now acts as there capital. It also once held nearly all of Europe under its control, but as time marched on is slowly lost much of its power. all most fading into the history books, before Movement after movement of people who wanted to take Velika to its glory days slowly made it gain power again. and now in the modern day Velika is one of the biggest countrys in Europe.
